The Moke originally came to me as a blue shell in a swap for a Morris 1100.
It sat around in the shed with bits and pieces done here and there until late 2005, when I realised that I had better stuck into it if I wanted it finished by the Moke Muster. The car was actually completed the day before leaving for the Muster!
The colour is a Ford yellow and was matched to the custom-trimmed seats of unknown origin. I also had a roll bar made up and created my own custom dash using Mini Clubman gauges and some aluminium. Wheels are 13" Hotwires.
Under the bonnet is a 1990 1275 A+ engine coupled to a 4speed auto. With a Nissan electronic ignition, 1 3/4 carb and disk brakes it goes and stops very well.
I had some minor teething problems at the Muster including a noisy CV, problems with the shifter cable and running out of fuel! (Damn fuel gauge!)
The best part about owning the Moke is cruising with the top down and enjoying all the jealous looks. And our dogs really love riding in the back.
