It's alleged the largest commercial promotion involving the use of Mokes was back in the early seventies. It was a contest organized by Capitol Records to promote the Beach Boys.

They used twenty two candy striped Mokes with red and white striped fur interior and hub caps made from the Beach Boy own gold records.

The only way to improve on a promotion like that would be to chock the Mokes full of "Bay Watch" style chicks.
